Let it Grow is the band’s second full-length, recorded in their homes over three months in the spring of 2002 by Stephen Pitkin, drummer of The Flashing Lights. The new album is a deliberately eclectic effort, with the addition of keyboards, brass, wind instruments, and even an alarm clock. The Meligrove Band have built their reputation on a live show so energetic, it often borders on chaos, resulting in drumkits knocked over and mic stands on the floor.

Genre: Energetic Guitar Pop, Indie Rock

Sounds Like: Ben Folds Five, The Kinks, Elvis Costello, Sloan

“Falsetto harmonies hitch a ride on crunch-rock riffs — imagine The Beach Boys, with balls — and where their 2000 debut got by on teenage kicks alone, this time the Meligroves have brought enough songwriting smarts to match their undeniable enthusiasm, shifting from scissor-kick rockers (“Check Your Messages“) to dreamy Floyd-scapes (“Dr. Moon & the Stars“)” – Eye Weekly
