A natural progression from 2006′s Is This Home, Other Life breaks the mold of avant-garde sonic experimentation, adding catchy riffs and solid drumming to her lilting melodies and swirling textures.  This is ambient music with defined pop sensibilities.  Expect to hear multiple tracks with the haunting voice of Tamara Williamson, field recordings of Asian cities and in one song, chanting Korean monks.  Not only can music from this album create a moody background atmosphere, but also lends itself to being the focus of the scene.  Relax, let the songs wash over you.

Originally from Los Angeles, Morgan Doctor is a Toronto-based composer, Juno-nominated percussionist and yoga instructor. Her impressive musical career has included collaborations with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble, Bob Wiseman and Tamara Williamson, as well as sharing the stage with such luminaries as Angelique Kidjo, Jai Uttal and Bhagavan Das. Drawing on her background as a yoga instructor and her musical work with Gabrielle Roth, Is This Home is the study of music for body movement, incorporating ambient and percussive elements, looping samples, field recordings, and a strong degree of traditional songwriting.
