Faces on Film was born in the spring of 2004 and reside in Boston. The band offers it debut release (Seven Sisters), an EP recorded independently in the spring of 2005. Some moments are gentle and ardent, some are erratic and assailing. While its five pieces stand strong apart from each other, each moment of each song becomes a streak of colour, a delicate mark of texture, in a greater and coherent work. Singer/songwriter Mike Fiore, also a guitarist, is equipped with uniquely warm, weathered voice. Beneath the soars and stabs of his vocal exclamation, Ted Gallagher/guitar, David Hinckley/bass, Peter Schaefer/drums, percussion construct entrancing scapes with a wide palette of sounds.
Genre: Indie/Alt Rock
Sounds Like: Pavement, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse
“Call it pop turned upside down: Fiore, who writes and sings most of Faces on Film’s material, builds songs by ignoring half of the basic tenets of pop and embracing the rest.” -Boston Globe
